Christ that was a bit of a suck up, sorry.

Just so long as you're aware, eclectic, that complaining about Mr Bloggs and his weetabix is a bit pointless. For as many people annoyed by these types of blog, there are just as many annoyed by those wanting to "have a topical debate or find answers to society's problems". If blogging solves society's problems any time soon, I'll eat my fish. I quite like my goldfish, you'd gather that from my blog. But I wouldn't recommend you read it, it doesn't really inspire debate.

Me - amusing myself through the reading of other people's chronicled lives, writing about crap, and making my only little imprint on a tiiiiny bit of cyper parking space!

I mean, I've only had this, my 1st blog, for a few hours and already I can feel the initial pangs of a minor addiction. Like a child on a another adventure, I find myself unable to resist the occasional peek at this exciting new thing I've found.

So it would seem that I may indeed be fated to join the very thing I felt so strongly against...

Crunchy nut cornflakes any1? Now I just need a dog to take for walkies.

In response to:Constant monitoring of blogs: An interest in others or a lack of anything better?

And that last is the point. What you seek go find.

Me - it's friendly chat in idle moments, writing about anything crossing my mind, and cracking crap jokes.

But, hey, I'm shallow.
A fair question, I'll admit.

To be honest I don't know what I'd class it, or myself as (opinions on a postcard pls.) I sure don't bill myself as the next big thing in the wide and varied land of blog - So perhaps I'll just consider myself as merely a social explorer / commentator.

Afterall, I am new to the world of blogging - therefore, I'm just looking to realise the motivations behind the good (and bad) that blogs have to offer.

I may test a few boundaries along the way, but thats the way we learn best - trial and error.
I have no intention of wading through, insulting and offending all that I come across. But, I do want a bit more stimulation then knowing that Joe blogg's walk on the wild side involved having 3 weetibix instead of the usual 2.

In response to:Constant monitoring of blogs: An interest in others or a lack of anything better?

Some people use blogs to escape their meagre existance, some to make virtual friends who they will never meet in person.
People use them for all sorts of different purposes (insightful debate, diarising the minutae of their lives, taking on a fictional persona) and people read others blogs for just as many reasons (to learn something, to contribute back, or just as a vicarious peep into the monotony of the lives of others - so they know they aren't alone!)

Ultimately we can pick and choose what we blog and what we read to suit our own agendas, right?

In response to:Constant monitoring of blogs: An interest in others or a lack of anything better?

Maybe not everyone wants to have a debate. For every budding writer out there, there's someone else who's quite happy to keep what is essentially for them an electronic diary. If you don't like them, don't read them. There are a couple of people on here who chart their day to day activities, and they write brilliantly. They certainly keep a few of us entertained anyway.

I'd be interested to know how you classify the blog you just made.
